What is a Laminate Tooth in Aesthetic Dental Treatments?
Who Can Have Laminate Tooth Application?
The word laminate is used in Latin to mean leaf. For this reason, the treatment can also be called leaf tooth treatment. Although a small amount of healthy tooth tissue is lost with the thinning performed, its aesthetic use is quite common. Laminate tooth treatment, generally applied to the front group teeth, consists of very thin veneers. The aim of this treatment is to cover the tooth with a very thin porcelain by removing minimal amounts of material from the front teeth, thereby achieving a more aesthetic appearance. Although we mention that the treatment is done for aesthetic purposes, it is not possible for us to perform this application on all patients who request laminate teeth. The application is performed if conditions such as spaced teeth, fractures or decay in the front teeth, dark tooth color, crooked teeth, and changes in tooth color due to age are detected. However, it is not possible for us to perform the application if our patients are under 18 years of age, have bad habits such as nail biting, or if we encounter gum recession. The treatment is applied in cases where patients do not need surgical intervention for aesthetic reasons and their gums are suitable for veneers, and the treatment is completed in a maximum of 3 sessions. This means you can achieve that magnificent smile you dream of within 1 week.
